50 McDonalds McNuggets in 26 minutes.

On a slow Thursday afternoon about two weeks ago, people at work started talking about stupid ‘food bets’ that have been attempted before like 4 sticks of butter in 15 minutes, a can of dog food, one of everything in the vending machine, or 50 chicken nuggets in an hour. “50 chicken nuggets from McDonalds in an hour sounds doable,” I stated. The last guy that attempted this puked at 47. Before I could back out, bets were taking place and money was coming down on me eating 50 chicken nuggets in an hour.

From the offset, I said I wouldn’t work for cheap and set the target at $300. Once the pot for me hit $300, I’d pull the trigger and attempt the feat. If I do it, money is mine and if I fail, everyone gets their piece of the pot back. Their donation was seen as ‘entertainment’ money which they may see back. Of course, there were also side bets made on me. Scott Haymore was the only one who went long me and took the other side of everyone who betted against me. As the pot was building to $300, which took a couple hours to do, someone mentioned knocking the time to 45 minutes would generate more money. Buck quickly jumped in and said $400 to finish in 45 minutes and I agreed too quickly. That sounded too difficult! Buck was generous enough to say that the original $300 for an hour stood and there was a $100 bonus to finish in 45. Fair.

The feat sounded doable. I thought I would either finish in 20 minutes or puke at 40 and told everyone that’s how I saw it. Everyone crowded as the chicken nuggets came and I was off to a good pace. The first 10 went down in just a few minutes. A picture of a chicken-head McNugget was quickly put in front of me. I just turned the other way and kept at it. I was surprised I never slowed down. All 50 went down in 26-27 minutes! Did I eat them naked? I couldn’t do it as the taste was just too nasty. Sauce was my saving grace. The damage? 2500 calories and 180 grams of fat. I felt lethargic and sick for a good day and a half. The task was too easy and the new bar has been set at 75 in 45 minutes.

Matt. You are bringing me up to modern computer speed. Always wondered what a "blog" was. I can't believe you ate all those chicken nuggets but for all that money, maybe it was worth it. Take care, Arleen

Nice - you represent boy! Pretty soon, you'll be up against the japanese king ... no, world king - Kobayashi!
